THE XXII ANNUAL BRENNINKMEIJER-WERHAHN LECTURE

“The Our Father Against the Background of Jewish and Christian Prayer and Liturgy".

The Cardinal Bea Centre for Judaic Studies and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem are sponsoring the XXII Annual Brenninkmeijer-Werhahn Conference entitled “The Our Father Against the Background of Jewish and Christian Prayer and Liturgy".

The event, open to the public, will be held on Thursday 18 May 2023 at 6:00 pm and will include the participation of renowned international figures from both the Catholic and Jewish world:

  • Rabbi Moshe Navon (Jewish liberal Community in Bad Pyrmont "Tefillat Shalom”), and
  • Prof. Thomas Söding (Ruhr University Bochum), who wrote a book on the Our Father from a Jewish and Christian perspective.

The conference will be moderated by

  • Prof. Elena Lea Bartolini De Angeli (Istituto Superiore di Scienze Religiose di Milano) and
  • Prof. Yonatan Moss (Hebrew University of Jerusalem),

who, after an initial speech by the two guests, will stimulate through their questions the broadening of the discussion from the Our Father to prayer in general and liturgy in both traditions.

The conference will be concluded by a musical moment by Maurizio Di Veroli of the Davka project.
