The Nomadic Shtetl Archive. Mobile Interventions in Post-Jewish Architecture

Architecture of Memory explores architectural disappearance, urban remembrance and functional change amid social upheaval. Using archival, architectural and artistic methods, Natalia Romik investigates the spectral architecture of former shtetls – predominantly Jewish towns in Central and Eastern Europe before the Second World War. After the war, these towns were repopulated by people of other nationalities, who reused former Jewish properties. Today, traces of the Jewish populations have nearly vanished from urban reality and public discourse.

Rocznice „Nostra aetate” i wizyty Jana Pawła II w synagodze okazją do refleksji nad dialogiem chrześcijańsko-żydowskim

– Chcielibyśmy pójść śladami papieża, także w wymiarze symbolicznym, przez nawiedzenie synagog w różnych miastach Polski, zarówno tych funkcjonujących, jak i tych, po których pozostała jedynie pamięć – powiedział kardynał Ryś. Jak dodał, rozmowy ze stroną żydowską w tej sprawie już się rozpoczęły – w najbliższym czasie spotka się z naczelnym rabinem Polski Michaelem Schudrichem.

ICCJ 2026 Conference in Hanover / Germany

Preparations for ICCJ's 2026 international conference to be held in Hanover / Germany, July 12-15, are under way. The theme of the conference is "Repentance, Repair, and Reconciliation: Religious Resources for Tumultuous Times"
The conference is organized in collaboration with the Deutscher Koordinierungsrat der Gesellschaften für christlich-jüdische Zusammenarbeit (DKR).
